About this tour

We'll pedal through the peaceful Stratumse Heide and the edges of the vast Groote Heide (including the Leenderheide area), where you'll find rolling heathlands, serene forests, sparkling venns (small lakes), and that classic Dutch sandy paths under tall pine trees. It's flat, relaxing riding – ideal for any level, with plenty of photo stops and fresh air to clear your mind after a week of high-tech work.

The absolute highlight? A cozy stop at the legendary Hut van Mie Pils – a charming, over-130-year-old forest café (more like a warm brown café with a big terrace) tucked deep in the woods between Geldrop, Waalre, and Aalst. This is the classic Brabant pitstop: think homemade apple pie (appeltaart), steaming hot chocolate with whipped cream, local beers, and that unbeatable feeling of sitting among the trees while the world slows down. It's the perfect spot to chat, laugh, share stories from home, and enjoy true Dutch gezelligheid.

As your guide, I'll share fun facts about the area (from ancient drift sands to the wildlife hiding in the heather), point out the best views, keep the pace easy and social, and make sure everyone feels welcome – whether you're new to the Netherlands or just craving some nature time with fellow internationals.
